FRAGMENTS

Fragments is a body of work exploring how a small detail can tell a whole story; in the same way that a smell or a ticket stub can evoke a vivid memory. I hope this work sets your imagination running. How you interpret the story is up to you. I love the idea of people discussing the work and coming to wildly different conclusions and opinions.

SERIES I: PAPER

These highly detailed charcoal drawings focus on the physical traces of human connection. Through torn edges, crumpled textures, and obscured handwriting, they evoke a note left behind in a rush or a letter torn up in the moment. There is a whole story captured in the margins here; it's up to you to decide what it says.

This work employs a trompe l'oeil effect (trick of the eye), which basically means they look like you could reach out and touch them.
